Which session is right for you?

Family

For the whole crew, kids and all — indoors, outdoors, or both, built around nap times and short attention spans.

Couple

Engagement shoots, anniversaries, or just because — walking, talking, and being yourselves in front of the camera.

Maternity

Best booked between 30–34 weeks, in the studio or somewhere with room to breathe outdoors.

Newborn

Best in the first 1–2 weeks, relaxed and unposed, always in the studio for full light and temperature control.

Individual / Headshots

Clean, professional headshots or personal portraits — studio-based, usually the shortest session.

Studio or on location

The studio gives clean, controlled light — ideal for headshots, newborns, or anyone who'd rather not be photographed in public, and a sensible plan B when the Welsh weather has other ideas. Prefer somewhere with a bit more life? We can shoot at the Wentwood ridge, Newport wetlands, Cardiff Bay, or right at your own home.

What to expect

We start with a short chat and a few easy warm-up frames. From there it's mostly movement and conversation — walking, sitting, playing with the kids. Sessions with young children run at their pace, not a shot list.

Delivery

You'll get a preview gallery within 48 hours, so you don't have to wait to relive the session — then your full edited gallery follows within 10 working days: a private online space with full-resolution downloads, plus the option to order fine-art prints and framing if you'd rather have something on the wall than just a file.

Session length

Essential sessions run 45 minutes — ideal for headshots or a small family group, in and out without it taking over your day. Signature sessions run 90 minutes, with two locations or outfit changes if you want a bit more variety. Premium runs up to three hours and can combine studio and outdoor work in one relaxed booking.

Questions people ask

What should we wear?+

Stick to solid colours and soft tones rather than busy patterns or big logos — coordinating rather than matching works best for groups, and it photographs better too.

How do sessions work with young children or nervous clients?+

There's no rush. We build in extra time and follow your pace — sessions can pause and restart if someone needs a break, and there's no pressure to get the “perfect” shot on the first try.

Can we combine studio and outdoor in one booking?+

Yes — this is included as standard in a Premium session. If you'd like to combine settings on a Signature booking instead, just mention it when you get in touch.

What happens if the weather's bad on the day?+

No problem — the studio is always available as a dry, comfortable backup, so a grey forecast won't get in the way of your session.

How far in advance should we book?+

A few weeks' notice is usually plenty, though weekends and school holidays fill up faster — if you have a specific date in mind, it's worth asking early rather than leaving it to the last minute.

Can our pet be part of the session?+

Of course — if your dog (or any other four-legged family member) is part of the family, they're welcome in the shoot.

Our family shoot on the Wentwood ridge was genuinely fun, and the photos are the first ones we've ever actually printed and hung.
